National Heavy Horse Show

Once again the SHSA put on a great show open to all heavy horse breeds. We had lots of fun catching up with people and competing with Darkmoor Jester and Darkmoor Jazz. Jester was a last minute sub in for another horse on our show team and we were very lucky our wonderful farrier Wesley Stewart agreed to come in at 6am to shoe him. Jester was his usual unflappable self, despite not having been out since April last year. He spent his time ringside napping, snuggling with children and trying to lick a yapping Kelpie puppy (yes, seriously!) before going out to win First Place Gelding Over Four, Best...

Bungendore Show 2015

Darkmoor Jazz went to her first show at Bungendore this weekend. She did brilliantly -undefeated! – beating quite a few older horses to win: First Shire Mare or Filly Under 2Champion Shire Mare or Filly Supreme Champion ShireGrand Champion Heavy Horse We are ridiculously proud of how Jazz handled her first outing – she calmly took it all in stride and didn’t put a foot wrong. She loved all the cuddles from the public, who fell in love with her. Welcome Darkmoor Armani

We’re excited to announce Wyee Jessica has foaled another beautiful big black colt with four white socks. We’ve named him Darkmoor Armani. He’s as friendly, playful and curious as all of Jess’s colts. Armani has great movement, a lovely temperament and wonderful conformation. Wyee Archer

After a long search we finally settled on a foundation stallion! His name is Wyee Archer, though he’s already affectionately known as Archie here at home. We did lots of research and spent considerable time discussing the purchase of our first stallion. We wanted to be clear on where he would come from (bloodlines) and what we wanted him to do for us. We eventually opted to purchase Wyee Archer – one of only two sons of Walton Supreme in Australia.
