Darkmoor Angelina holds a special place at Darkmoor – she’s the first filly we bred by Tullymore Sir Joseph Banks, and from the very beginning she showed all the qualities we value in a Shire mare.
Angelina possesses a lovely front, strong body depth, plenty of bone and free, active movement. She’s a mare that combines quality, substance, presence and the willing temperament that makes Shires such a pleasure to own.
She is out of Ingleside Imogen, whose pedigree combines some of the breed’s most influential bloodlines. Angelina is linebred to Hillmoor Prince Charles and Blackden Charlie, two stallions that have left a lasting mark on the modern Shire horse.
Angelina enjoyed success in the show ring from a young age, first being named All Australian Shire Female in the All Australian Digital Heavy Horse Show at just six months of age. She was later awarded one of the country’s highest honours, receiving Supreme Champion Shire Exhibit at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2021.
In 2025 she produced her first foal, Darkmoor Emilie, a striking black filly by the imported stallion Rosemoore Archie. Emilie inherited much of her dam’s quality, presence and natural style, and we have retained her as a future show horse and broodmare.
Angelina is proving just as valuable in the breeding paddock as she was in the show ring and we look forward to watching her influence continue through future generations of Darkmoor horses.
