Sydney Royal Easter Show 2015

We had another wonderful year at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. It was fantastic to, once again, be a part of such an awesome team. We consider ourselves very lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing people. A big thank you to Ingleside Shires, Kate Williams, Annette Robinson, Liz Williams, Sarah Dooley, Jess van den Dries and Somone Landry.

We took Darkmoor Jester, Darkmoor Jazz & Darkmoor Lady Elegance with us. All three of them are young and relatively inexperienced as show horses, but they handled the atmosphere of such a big show very well and we’re very proud of them.

Jester did well in his Schmidt Arena classes (Ridden Heavy Horse & Ridden Heavy Utility Horse) for such a green horse. We’d like to give Byron Biffin, who started Jester under saddle and rode him for us at Sydney, a big shout out. Byron, you’re amazing and we can’t tell you how much we appreciate your efforts!

Jester placed second in the Shire Gelding Under 3 class on Saturday. He stood quietly and did a beautiful workout. Congratulations to Sarah Dooley & James Crisp for winning with their beautiful gelding Ingleside Lucky Chance.

Lady Elegance and Jazz also did very well in a strong Shire Filly Under Two class. Lady Elegance placed third and Jazz fifth. The judge gave them some very positive feedback, which was lovely to hear.

The standard was very high again this year and we congratulate all of the heavy horse exhibitors on a great event. We so enjoy getting to see you all every year!

We’d like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to our friends at Ingleside Shires – they had an absolutely incredible day, culminating in Supreme Champion Shire with their home bred mare Ingleside Madeline.

Finally, an enormous thank you to the beautiful Robyn Chapman, who travelled all the way down from QLD to help us show. Robyn, you were incredible, loads of fun to be with and we could not have done it without you. Thank you.
